I would always consider myself "healthy"; maybe even pride myself on being someone who makes healthy food choices. At a particular time in my life, a "healthy choice" was based solely on calorie count and not he actual physical make up (i.e. ingredients) of that food. SO, that meant if half of the ingredients were chemicals, ahh well--> it only has 80 calories.
However, since having a little girl, I have become super aware of what I buy and what we are actually consuming.
DON'T get it twisted, I love sweets and baked goods like a mutha, and it just so happens that Mia "get it from her mama", and thoroughly enjoys sweets, too.

I would say fudgciles and ice cream are the epitome of summer sweet treats! So once summer time rolled around, I was excited for her to try a fudgcicle. When looking for fudgicles for her to try at the grocery store I was less than impressed with some of the popular options. I mean, what the heck is all this crap??
After scouring Pintrest several times, I tried different recipes for home made fudgciles. The recipes I tried were always just a bit off: either too ice-y, or not flavorful or too many unhealthy ingredients. I mixed and matched and came up with the best recipe that The Girl and I both love!
Not only is this recipe super easy, but it's made with all natural ingredients, no chemicals or unrefined sugars. Check your labels mamas!!
See the ingredients and recipe below:

- 1 ripe banana
- 4 tbsp of coconut cream (2 tbsp reserved)
- 1/4 c unsweetened coconut shreds
- 2 tbsp unsweetened coco powder
- 2 tbsp Lily's dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 c almond milk or coconut milk (would enhance the flavor more, but hey! It's what I had handy)
- A few drops of stevia extract
Directions:
1. Take the 2 reserved table spoons of coconut cream and melt in the dark chocolate chips. Use a small bowl and microwave slowly for 20 second intervals until the chips are completely melted into the coconut cream
2. Blend the mixture with the remainder of the ingredients (the banana, coco powder, coconut shreds, remaining coconut cream, almond (coconut) milk and stevia drops)
3. Pour into popsicles molds, (you can find them anywhere or purchase them here). This mixture will make about 5 popsicles.
4. Allow them to freeze fully overnight.
Enjoy them outside to avoid a huge mess! :)
