"Come Back To Your Breath"

If you've ever taken a group fitness class, practiced yoga, meditation, etc., chances are you have probably heard the instructor say "...come back to your breath." Is this supposed to mean breath or is this a metaphor for something bigger? Maybe it's both!?
I admit that am no different than anyone else, in the past two months I have found myself overwhelmed + unable to "find my breath".
My summer has consisted of:
- Finding out I was pregnant
- Battling daily sickness + exhaustion
- Packing up our previous home
- Moving to a new home, in a new town
-Teaching 5-6 fitness classes a week
All while just trying to stay above water with the regular day to day stuff that we all have.
I saw my "bloggerversary" (the one year anniversary since I started The Girl's Club") come and go without any recognition or public acknowledgment. However, I did have some time to reflect. I thought back on what I intended to accomplish with this blog + individual work with clients. I also reflected on what I was HOPING to accomplish in 1 year.
At first glance, I felt disappointed; like I let myself down and allowed my purpose to dilute. From dwindling time and energy spent on content creation, social media + recruiting new clients. Few things can be more invigorating or intoxicating than starting a successful "side hustle", "side gig", online business, etc. (whatever you want to call it). There is no denying that independent entrepreneurial endeavors require a lot of time, energy and effort. Once that "new new" wears off, it can feel a bit tiring.
When starting a side gig, actually getting the desired results you set out for are far from "guaranteed". Actually, I have found rejection is more common, especially when trying to land new clients, drive traffic to this blog or execute bigger picture ideas into action. The sheer amount of energy that goes into a "side hustle", even with experiencing some success, can be mentally and physically exhausting.
Here's how I am avoiding burnout while continuing to do what I set out to do 1 year ago!
What's your purpose?
If you have ever taken one of my classes; during cool down you will often hear me say, "come back to yourself, come back to your breath." Sounds so easy right?!...Not so much!
Coming back to your purpose, reminds me of this sentiment.
When starting a business, a new job, a new endeavor, keep in mind; there are certainly going to be some hard times. In order to get through those hard times, you need to have a strong sense of purpose. What problems are you trying to solve? What can you contribute to help others? What do you intend to accomplish?
A strong sense of purpose will help you to stay committed and help you prioritize. For me, being able to allow some grace for this busy season has changed my perspective from feeling disappointed to feeling energized. Energized to help more ladies, share more insights, and continue being happy in what have created at The Girls Club.

Bottom line:
Allow yourself some grace, + time. Have the deep down genuine belief that you are right where you are meant to be!
Curious to hear what's fueling you right now? Or maybe what's clouding you right now from feeling excited being you!? If you don't know the answer to that? Well then, it's time we connect!
Go on Girl,
xo, Kat
