The Wizard of…

A lot of times my blog and social media posts are centered around my daughter, The Girl and I: OUR story + OUR doings, etc. But behind the scenes we are lucky enough to have our own wizard. A wizard who works his magic quietly and with finesse. This wizard is otherwise known as my handsome husband, Mark and the father to our daughter, Mia.
Mark is a small business owner of two amazing companies in our hometown, Brockton, MA. Shout out to G.Norwood Landscape and Packard Farm (little plug never hurt anyone!) Mark is the truest example of hard work, passion, grit and discipline. Not only in his professional arenas, but personally as well.

Our love story extends WAY back (almost 12 years ago) but our roots were grounded even earlier than that.
Fun Fact # 1: Mark is my best friend’s older brother (shout out to Renee) and I always had a secret crush on him, since middle school.
Fun Fact # 2: I was a little scared of my husband (before he was my husband, of course). He is 8 years older than me, which doesn't seem like much of a age difference now, as we get older. But, other than the age difference, Mark carries himself with such confidence and poise, it was slightly intimidating.
What started off as innocent flirting, morphed into him actually asking me on a date. Naturally, I was taken aback and declined, probably something as immature as me giggling and running away to tell my friends about it. But not Renee, because that was her older brother…yikes!
Fast forward through many stories, fake ID dates in Boston (I was only 20), countless hours spent up all night talking, laughing and connecting. Our relationship flourished into this awesome love story we still like to tell to this day.
Because of my close knit relationship with his family, people used to ask me, “What’s going to happen when you guys break up?” I always met that question with an unknown confidence, that it just wasn’t going to happen. I never had a worry about my life “after Mark” because I knew it would always be my life “with Mark”.
I wouldn’t say Mark and I were opposites, rather, we are the perfect complements to one another. A lot of his traits and tendencies are the perfect counterbalance to my traits and tendencies. Where he is rigid, I offer flexibility. Where I am carefree, he is methodical. See how that works?? Both come from a place of love and understanding of each other’s differences (maybe with some reminders, here + there).

I acknowledge my husband here, because he was a driving force behind me actually launching The Girl’s Club and KatNor.com. Mark, keeps me motivated to dream BIG! He has taught me that no vision is ever impossible. But in order to reach goals or get to where your going, you have to DO, take action, work with “what ya got!“, educate yourself and relentlessly + shamelessly share your mission with others.
Although we are in two different industries, Mark and I constantly talk about our goals and how we can live our life with fulfillment rather than satisfaction as entrepreneurs, parents and partners.
Babe, this one is for you!
XO, Kat
